Gone are the days when a traditional wedding would be celebrated with the guests throwing confetti or rice at the happy couple. Even bird seed with its negative aspects has been banished as something to throw at the bride and groom. But, with the variety of decorations and innovations that are created daily, it is no wonder that now more and more couples are going in for something more modern and more glamorous than throwing rice or bird seed. One of those current trends is Wedding Poppers.
Fun to use and beautiful to watch, wedding poppers also have many other advantages that traditional rice throwing did not. For instance, they come in very handy containers that can be placed as decorations on tables around the wedding venue. When guests wish to celebrate, they can very simply pull the string on the container and the streamers will jump out, after having made a neat popping sound.
Throwing rice or a bag full of confetti in the midst of the crowd at weddings always posed a problem. Wedding poppers, on the other hand are easy to manage and they are terrific for kids to handle comfortably. They are definitely safer and can be used indoors since the clean up is just a matter of sweeping with a broom.
Wedding poppers come in different designs and colors. Champagne bottle shapes, biodegradable wedding poppers, plain white cans, and pictures of happy cartoon couples in black and white on the can. Even the tissue paper confetti inside can be ordered to match the color theme of the wedding. And, the names of the bride and groom might be printed on the outside giving the popper a very personal touch.
Because of these advantages, and because they make things a lot less messy and easier to handle, wedding poppers are being used in more weddings than rice or the ordinary confetti in bags.
Depending on the design, some companies call them canons and blasters. Many stores sell them in the wedding favor section.
